30 DAYS OF DENIM WITH LEVI / PART 1

To celebrate the new Lot 700 series, I have been tasked by Levi with the #30DaysOfDenim challenge!

Finding that perfect fitting pair of jeans can be a total bitch, and this is where the Levi's 700 series comes in! REJOICE! The series is made up of 6 fits that will suit any style, and will turn buying jeans from a chore into a joy! From the 710 Super Skinny to the 714 bootcut, the Lot 700 series fit SO perfectly that the denim heads at Levi's reckon you'll be inspired to do ALL SORTS of things for the first time. This in mind, not only have I been challenged to spend 30 days wearing denim, I've also given a list of brand new things to try!

For my first task Levi challenged me to try and put together a double denim outfit with a piece of my husband old Levi's denim, and it just so happened that he is the proud owner of an awesome vintage sleeveless trucker. For her first time wearing my husband's denim, I paired the sleeveless trucker with a pair of Levi's 714 Straight jeans in black for that grungy look. What do you think?

This was probably the easiest challenge of them all. I was asked how I'd wear denim for her first glass of wine on a Friday. Because, you know, it's been a busy week, plus, who doesn't like wine? Every girl needs a pair of classic black skinnies, and these Levi's 710 super skinnys are the perfect fit.

In the life of a busy fashion blogger, you'd think that wearing jeans EVERY DAY would be a bit of a chore? However, I didn't think so. It makes the day that much easier knowing what your wearing. The Lot 700 range comes in such a wide range of fits and washes so I was able to make my outfit look different every day. What do you think of the Levi 711 skinny jeans? I don't have a grey wash so I loved this, not to mention the fit.

My final challenge of week one was a food based one, because, FOOD? I was asked how I thought about going vegan for a day. Verdict? It was okay. Not a life choice to be perfectly honest, I felt pretty good after it, but, cheese exists.. Tucking into my kale (burgh) and avocado salad, I wore the 712 slims turned up, and paired with this killer striped tee.

This week, with winter well and truly upon us, I tried knitting for the first time, in the hopes of knitting a cosy scarf for myself. I went with a mustard yellow to perfectly complement the blue Levi's sweatshirt. I wore the super comfy Levi's 712 Slims. Note to self, knitting is not for me, ever.

Another first for me this week was Bubble Tea! My verdict on the tea? 'Delicious, if a little bit too sweet. Not as slimy as it looks.' The verdict on the outfit? The Levi crew loved it. The 710 Super Skinny Jeans are perfect for achieving that 'casual-but-done' look.

For my last 'first' of the week, I was challenged with baking a cake. A Victoria Sponge to be exact, as, shock horror, this is something I've not tried before! I'm an awful cook, sorry mum. The Levi's 715 Bootcut jeans with a basic tee and supersoft cardi were the perfect combo to get experimenting.

Have you ever played darts? No, me either.. I'm usually more of a white-wine-and-a-boogie kinda gal, to give the classic pub game a go. No bullseye on the first go, unfortunately, but I did enjoy the experince. (I might even challenge my husband to a game next time we're down the local!) For my night at the pub, I wore the Levi's 711 Skinnys in indigo, with a gorgeous Levi's leather jacket.

Check in next week to see how I wore the Lot 700 series in my last two weeks.

MISSGUIDED DOUBLE BREASTED COAT

What I'm Wearing:

It's not a secret that I love my outerwear, coats especially. There is just something about them that just transforms an outfit which is why I simply can't get enough (I've acquired around 6-7 already this season!) In my eyes the right coat finishes off an outfit perfectly-I don't think of them as just something to chuck on and keep me warm during the harshest of Winters, but as the centre of all outfits.

I've lacked a pale coloured coat for some time now. (Let's ignore this compact faux fur coat I blogged about recently..) I know what you might be thinking "It's not a practical colour" or "What would it go with." 90% off my wardrobe is either black, grey or denim which works perfectly against the mauve wool.

You'll be surprised to know I paid a meer 70 for this double breasted coat which is worth every penny. The fit is tailored yet relaxed which is perfect to throw on over a cable knit sweat and skinny jeans for a chilled weekend, like I've done. Still formal enough pair with a LBD or co-ord combo (perfect for the office Christmas party!) I'd recommend keeping it chic and resting the coat on top of your shoulders

I think for that price you could make it work too.

LUXE LIPS

What I'm Wearing
Boots (Similar)
Sunglasses

I dont really feature a lot of beauty as you may already know, so getting my head around shooting lipsticks and talking about all things beauty etc in the correct way has taken me a while, but Im really hoping you like the outcome (do let me know below!) as I'm looking to shoot a little more hair and beauty content soon. You've been requesting a hair tutorial forever now I promise I'll bring that to you very soon.

I figured I'd start off a new beauty section on A Fashion Fix with a brand new lippy from Bobbi Brown - A name we all know and love.

Say hello to their most bold and vibrant colors ever, the Luxe Lip. This new sumptuous formula dramatically boosts moisture levels while intensely rejuvenating lips, keeping them comfortable and conditioned. Now in 30 shades, with a sleek gold tube-It's luxury. The new formula visibly reduce the appearance of lip lines and relieve lip flaking. Exactly what we need during a harsh winter, am I right? (Plus just one swipe delivers maximum coverage no so need to reapply.)

Lately Ive been known to have a love of neutral tones, remaining loyal to a nude colour palette, in particular a light brown or soft pink so when I feast my eyes on the exclusive shade "Almost Bare" it was most certainly my winner.

The shades featured are Russian Doll, Posh Pink, Almost Bare and Plum Brandy.

ARE KNEE HIGH BOOTS STILL IN STYLE?

What I'm Wearing

Of course knee high boots are still in style! Boot weather is finally upon us and I for one are super happy to start cracking out the winter wardrobe for work and play, now that our evenings are getting darker earlier. At this time of year I start to put away my summer pieces and unleash the coats, knitwear, scarfs and boots. These knee high boots from Ted and Muffy are the best fitting pair of knee high boots I've ever slid my foot into, not only are they real leather they're fitted to the exact width of my calf. Genius.

Gone are the days of wearing ultra thick socks to keep your boots from sliding down your ankles! I know what it's like to have to refund pair after pair because your Ill-fitted boots swamp your skinny legs. This way we are all able to own boots that fit like a dream!

What I immediately thought once I had pulled this outfit together was 'this would work so well for work.' Now I've never had a 9-5 before, my kind of working day was late nights and weekends in a personal shopping suite so I've never experienced a proper "work wardrobe before" that doesn't mean I havn't shopped for someone needing exactly that. These knee high boots are almost flat so they're perfectly work appropriate, even with a midi skirt. Paired with a basic white tee or draped blouse this outfit is kept casual but still smart enough to give off an office vibe. Would you wear knee high boots to work?

HANNAH X MONIKH SERIES 2 - FAUX SUEDE

Monikh Is Wearing: Faux Suede Trench, Jeans, Trainers, Bag

Can we all just take a minute to take in the fact it is November already? Gah!The 1st of the month brings us another instalment of Monikh and I's new series. If you hadn't read the first instalment already then to sum up, we're pairing up to bring you our take on the latest; trends, key pieces, brands etc to show you how we style it all in our own ways. See here how we've styled the bomber jacket in the first series.

In this post we've taken our love of faux suede which is both affordable not to mention super on trend. (Win, win!) Yes it may have been around for a couple of months now but we wanted to show you how to take your faux pieces into the new colder season.

I've taken the Missguided faux suede jacket in mustard. If you haven't seen me wear this before then where have you been hiding? It was my go-to piece in Summer. (See how I wore it here.) We can safely say we've transitioned into Winter now so a pencil skirt and sandals isn't quiet season appropriate anymore, so I've styled this jacket with my favourite colour. Black! A pair of cropped skinny jeans and Nike roshe combo is the perfect combination for a chilled weekend. If you're worried about incorporating a bright colour into your wardrobe then this will be your best way to go, introducing colours with a monochrome palette.

Monikh has worn the Missguided faux suede trench coat in a similar way with a pair of blue straight leg jeans and Adidas Gizelle trainers. If you're looking to buy into a faux suede staple piece for Winter then her tan trench is the perfect investment!
