Chic layering is where I'm at, at the moment. Layering sleeveless knits over stripped and patterned shirts puts a fashionable spin on regular knits over regular shirts. (We've seen it all before!) Although this look does suit an every day vibe, simple swap the jeans for a pair of cropped cigarette pants and you've got yourself a work ready look.
Flared jeans are a proper leg lengthener. Don't be fooled into thinking they are just for the tall and slender. I'm merely 5"3 and how insanely tall, not to mention how long to my little legs look!? Pop on a block heeled boot for the day and slip into a strappy sandal to take you into the evening.
(Warning, single people look away now..) Christmas and New year and over for another year, so whats next for us to look forward to? No just before Fashion Week.. Valentines day! Me and my fianc don't go crazy over this holiday day, you don't need one special day to show someone how much they mean to you, this should happen all year round.
What I don't mind however is a lovely bunch of Valentines flowers! How beautiful does this bouquet of spray roses look on my newly marbled desk!? This bouquet is part of the mini eden blooms, part of the Valentines range from Appleyard London. I do love myself a good bunch but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when I unboxed this bouquet. The colours of the spray roses were absolutely gorgeous not to mention how massive just a standard arrangement was! Whether your buying for someone special, (or just for yourself which I like to do regularly!) It's amazing how much a vase full of blooms can do to brighten up a small space in your home.
What are your plans for Valentines day this year? Below I've popped some Valentines inspiration to look the part for that first date, dressing up with the girls or a romantic meal out with your other half.
Happy Monday! What better way to start your Monday morning than with a dose of inspiration!? I finally got a chance to shot these New Look boots last week, aren't they amazing? I picked them up in the Christmas sales last year for a meer 14. Oh yes, you heard right. 14!
I've picked up a new habit recently, and that is to wear over a pair of knee high boots with midi skirts. Very Victoria Beckham don't you think? I just love the silhouette it forms. Paired with a simple over-sized jumper and this outfit sums me up to a T! Equally if midi skirts are not your thing these boots would look amazing with a simple silk aline mini skirt.
What do we do now Christmas is over and we are well into a five week month? Apart from count down the days until payday... Search for Winter sun get-aways, of course! Myself and my fianc have just booked our honeymoon for later this year and what was the first thing I did? (beside tweet about it) I went bikini shopping of course, because whats more exciting than preparing your holiday wardrobe!?
Beach Cafe have been on my radar for some while now, mainly down to the impeccable range of swimwear delivered in magazine style pages. One range in particular is Kiini known for its crochet bikinis, which are all over social media not to mention celebrities. I mean how incredible will the white/multi coloured triangle set look with an amazing deep tan? The dream. Slip into the Anjuna embellished kaftan or Cool Change beach jumpsuit and your ready for a day of island excursions.
Above I have popped together three mix and match outfits pairing key pieces garunteed to take you from holiday to holiday.
The Asos White faux fur bomber. What dreams are made of. Quiet steep at my standards (180) but a little birdy told me its now in the sale.. Oversized, bang on trend but more importantly super warm!
This faux fur bomber is quiet "out there" for some. I have to admit I have had a couple of stares (which I am putting down to jealousy ;)!) For me it's important to dress a stand out piece, down as I don't want to look too OTT as that can take away the individuality and turn the bomber trashy. Paired with a simple black skinny jean and a pointed ankle boot lets the jacket do all the talking!
Part two of my "styled three ways" series see's this beautiful waterfall coat paired with my favourite twin-set of the year so far from Lavish Alice. The detailing of the set is beautiful, especially the silver D ring buckle across the front of the LA crop. What you don't see is the stunning open, cross over back. Apologies, its far too cold for a bare back in Winter!
These cross over wrap front culottes have been a firm favourite of mine since late Autumn, so it is no surprise for them to be gracing my legs. (I've styled them here and here if you need more convincing!) Finally, what better way to add a little dimension to an outfit than with a pop of colour. Rianna Phillips is a firm favourite of mine when it comes to accessories. This gorgeous Elder print also comes in an iPad sleeve, notebook and iPhone case. Because we all need matching stationary, am I right ladies?
If you're still not sold you can see how I styled this misguided coat another way, here.
Happy New Year! I can't fault 2014 in the slightest. I've signed with Reward Style and Glam Media, I've won a competition to attend fashion week in another country But most importantly of all thanks to my readers I was able to leave my job in personal shopping to pursuit my blog on a full time basis. My fianc and I bought a house and moved in literally just a couple of days before the end of 2014 which was a lovely way to see the new year in.
I don't have any set in stone goals of such for this year (apart from getting married!) I do plan to expand my content and branch out into other directions such as travel, possibly a youtube channel coming your way? We'll see what 2015 holds in terms of confidence in front of the view finder..
As I received such a positive response to my work space I posted on instagram yesterday I thought I would put together a small snippet of my favourite room in our house, our bedroom. If I could sum this room up in two words it would be french chic. I just love sitting and relaxing in my ghost chair at my clean white desk planning my upcoming week in my Kate Spade diary burning my favourite diptyque candle. Do you have any goals for this year?
