ONE COAT, THREE WAYS

So, Christmas is over for another year. I don't know about you but what I look forward to the most is the Boxing day sales. Who doesn't love a bargain? (Apart from the horrendous queues and cat fights over the last pair of size 3 suede knee high boots. Totally not talking from experience!) Personally I prefer to shop the sales from the comfort of my bed.

First things first, although I'd love to say this gorgeous Chanel bag is mine, It's not (insert sad face.) Atosa from My Bubba And Me kindly lent it to me to complete the outfit. The thought of taking it home did cross my mind but as she so kindly photographed this look it was only fair to give it back. (I put up a good fight though!) 

I'd apologise in advance for the head to toe black outfit, but lets face it I'm not sorry. I've popped in a burgundy sleeveless knit to add some dimension to the outfit and break up the block of solid colour. I've styled this Missguided waterfall coat in three completely diverse ways so stay tuned to see how I've styled my other two looks.

BLACK BLACK LAYERS

There is nothing I love more than stepping out the door in all black. Without hesitation I always reach for an item of clothing in a dark colour-way. Who doesn't? Whether it's in form of an accessory like an ankle boot or leather waist belt, or simple pair of black skinny jeans. I feel most at ease in some form of dark colour.

In order to achieve the chic-est of black outfits it is important to play with different textures and layers as we don't want to be swamped in material. In this outfit I've combined knitwear and neoprene with leather changing up the midi length of the skirt with a waist length cape. I thought I'd give my Celine bag a break and introduce this tortoiseshell box clutch bag (the perfect size for all the essentials!)

GESTUZ, OLIVIA PALERMO STYLE

I first spotted Gestuz at London Fashion Week sported by the one and only Olivia Palermo. (You can see how she styled her Gestuz sleeveless jacket, here.) And, well If it is good enough for Olivia herself then it sure is good enough for me! I have to admit I was hesitant when styling this jacket as I wanted to give it every justice it deserved so, pairing it with a black roll neck and midi skirt seemed to be the perfect partner for this stand out jacket. 

Now which Gestuz purchase shall I make next? This chevron longline coat or this geometric knit..

THE SHEARLING JACKET

Yes, I know what you're thinking. "Hannah is that another coat?" Damn right it is. I own several different coats, for good reason; oversized, longline, wrap, leather. But, not a shearling number! See there is a coat for every occasion and more importantly every outfit.

 

The shearling jacket is not only chic in its monochrome colour-way but it's also weather practical, something I'm not used to when it comes to clothing (Ops!). Layering underneath is simple as the jacket is an oversized form leaving lots of room for cosy knitwear. Pop on a pair of staple black skinny jeans and a pointed ankle boot or knee high boot and you've got yourself a fashion worthy attire.

(There is also a tan shearling jacket if black isn't your thing!)

CHRISTMAS GIFTING FOR HIM

Next up on my Christmas to-do list is to buy for the men in my life, including my Fiance. Jeez, what a task that is proving to be! I don't care what people to say, men are so much harder to buy for. Give me a Roses Diptyque candle or a Viktor & Rolf Flower Bomb gift set and I'm over the moon! (Unless you have a vintage Celine bag hiding under that tree and that would be slightly more preferable...)

COLLARS UP

First things first, how incredible is this coat? From the large out-there lapels to the soft waterfall front. Every aspect of this coat screams expensive. But let me tell you, I bagged this coat for a meer �69.99 which leaves you enough change for a matching scarf!

Yes, it's Missguided! (I may also have the tan, and am lusting over the black..) It's rare to find a coat that ticks every box but when you do you've got to nab it in every single colour! What do you think of this look? I can't help but want to belt everything in sight, don't you think it makes your staple pieces look super expensive?

LONGER LINES

Another midi skirt to add to the collection you say? Hell yes! This grey brushed wool midi skirt is my latest addition and boy am I glad! Being a full A-line with a high rise waist this black roll neck is the perfect accompaniment.

As the weather dips dramatically I understand that a black strappy heel isn't the most season appropriate. Equally a pair of pointed heeled ankle boots or over the knee's will do this outfit a massive amount of justice. (And keep your toes warm!)

CROPPED KNITS PAIRED WITH MIDI SKIRTS

I am partial to a midi skirt or two, despite being merely 5"3 I just love the sophistication of a calf length skirt. Especially when its black.. and from Topshop.. and what's even better is the price. (�36!) Fit for any purpose and don't forget every occasion. So, what's taken you so long!? 

No matter what the season, the midi skirt see's me right through the year. Oversized cashmere vests and lightweight duster coats in the Summer and come Winter I will reach for a cropped sweat layered underneath a longline wrap coat. Footwear can be a slight dilemma during Winter as I prefer a strappy sandal to elongate my little legs but, not to fear as this is where the leather ankle boot or (my favourite) a suede over the knee boot come into play. Seasonal perfection.
